Belmar Woman Charged With Shoplifting

A Belmar woman was arrested on shoplifting charges and a Texas man was charged with drunken driving overnight Monday in Wall Township, authorities said.

Colleen Arroyo, 35, of Belmar, was arrested and charged with trying to steal $80 in merchandise from the Route 35 K-Mart in Wall around 8 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Todd Czech said.

Arroyo was charged with shoplifting and released with a court date later this month, Czech said.

James Evans, 30, of Milford, Tx., was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop around 2:05 a.m., Czech  said.

The location of the stop was not immediately available.  Evans was charged and released with a court date, Czech said.
