Steven A. Tardy Named New President at French And Parrello

Tardy will continue as the company's CEO in addition to serving as the president.

WALL, NJ – French & Parrello Associates (FPA), a full-service engineering and environmental service firm based in Wall, announced the promotion of Steven A. Tardy, PE, to President following the retirement of former President, James B. Heller, PE. Already serving as CEO, Mr. Tardy will lead the firm’s overall day-to-day operations and strategic growth initiatives.

For over thirty-four years, Mr. Tardy has served in numerous roles at FPA, including Chief Operating Officer and Board Treasurer, and his work within these capacities have been instrumental to FPA’s growth which now includes over fifteen disciplines, 170 employees, and eight offices throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Beginning his career at FPA as a summer intern while pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University, Mr. Tardy’s management responsibilities throughout the years have included business development, staff oversight, quality control, client relations, and multi-discipline project implementation. His in-depth knowledge of FPA’s existing clients, market trends, and close collaboration with FPA’s executive leadership team will enable Mr. Tardy to propel FPA into its next phase of growth.

Mr. Tardy has also been fervently involved in providing support and guidance to future engineering professionals. An active ambassador of his alma mater to the external business community, he has served as a Rutgers University Civil Engineering Industry Advisory Board member since 2011. Mr. Tardy is also a former Graduate School instructor at Rutgers University from 2002 to 2007. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Tardy served as Career Day Chairman for the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers (NJSPE).

His continued contributions to the Civil Engineering profession earned him the “Civil Engineer of the Year” award in 2012 from the American Society of Civil Engineers, New Jersey Chapter (ASCE NJ). After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers, Mr. Tardy earned a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
