Downed Power Line Sparks Brush Fire In Wall Township: PD

A brush fire on Allenwood Road and Highway 34 reportedly stemmed from a downed power line on Friday, authorities said.

WALL, NJ - A brush fire near Highway 34 and Allenwood Road in Wall Township stemmed from a downed power line on fire, authorities said.

Officers from the Wall Township Police Department responded to a reported downed power line on Friday at approximately 4:06 p.m., a spokesman from the department told Patch. Upon arrival, patrols located a brush fire stemming from the down power line.

The Glendola Fire Company and NJ State Forest Fire Service responded and extinguished the fire. State Highway 34 north was diverted until the blaze could be extinguished.

JCP&L also responded to the scene and continued work to restore the power to the area, authorities said.
