California Air National Guard Unit Headed To East Coast

More than 100 Air National Guard personnel from the 129th Rescue Wing are preparing to assist with Hurricane Sandy rescue efforts, according to the 129th Rescue Wing's Facebook page.

The wing is based in California and is sending "two MC-130P Combat Shadows, two HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopters and Guardian Angel Pararescue teams to the East Coast as early as Monday to provide life-saving rescue capabilities to those in need in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy," the page says.

No other information on the unit or where it would be stationed was immediately available.
