Google Maps has offered up an alternative: playing the game on the streets of your hometown.
As part of its April Fool’s Day fun, Google Maps will allow you to zoom into any town and play a hometown version of the famous arcade game, gobbling your way along familiar streets and past local landmarks.

Zoom in on an area of town with lots of roads and intersections and click on the little Pac-Man icon in the lower left corner of your screen. If your hometown is too boring, pick an exotic vacation destination. Paris, perhaps. London or Madrid. You’ll hear the familiar music and sound effects, and the colored ghosts will chase you.
It may not be Halo, but who isn’t up for a little old-school fun?
