Latest Storm Aftermath Update

Here's the evening update from on the aftermath of Hurrican Sandy:

The Office of Emergency Management Wednesday night reminded Wall residents that a mandatory curfew is in effect from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. throughout Monmouth County, until further notice.

Jersey Central Power & Light is still saying that power, which is out to all Wall residents, may be out for up to 10 days.

All traffic lights remain out throughout Wall Township. A travel ban barring all non-emergency vehicles from town roads is in effect until further notice.

Water pressure is reported to be restored throughout the town, but water may appear brown at first. The OEM recommends running the water until it is clear.

Since the beginning of the storm, police have responded to 871 calls; Firefighter have responded to 235 and EMS to 272, according to the OEM.

Evacuation areas:
All residents who were previously evacuated and with storm damage are asked to contact Wall Police Non-Emergency phone number -- (732) 280-4341 -- prior to re-entering your home for help assessing your damage. This is required by the Wall Township Building Department in order to determine the safety of your building/home.
