Beach Games USA will hold its first Beach Bash Wiffle ball tournament Aug. 29 on the Main Street beach in Manasquan. A double elimination tournament, the games will be played in four custom designed beach stadiums with 12 teams per session and four players to a team, according to the Beach Games USA website. Teams can add a fifth player as a substitute.
The morning session will start at 9 a.m. for those 10 to 16. An afternoon session for those 17 and up begins at 3 p.m. for 12 four-player adult teams ages 17 and up. Games will be played using a plastic bat and ball in four custom designed stadiums running from Main Street to Riddle Beach. Rain date will be Aug. 30.
“We are excited about this opportunity to build community events with a launch in my hometown,” said Anthony Nuzzolo, co-founder of Beach Games USA. “As a town resident, I know Manasquan is an ideal location to hold a family friendly event like this. It is a great community that supports local efforts throughout the year. We are pleased that the borough shares our enthusiasm as well.”

Added borough employee, Andrew Mills, “It’s a unique event that gives an opportunity to bring people up to the beach that might not have had a chance to come see the beautiful beaches we have.”
Nuzzolo’s idea for the beach tournament came while he was working in his South Shore Sign Company where he designs and creates indoor and outdoor signage. “With the skills and resources to put together quality stadiums with highly customized and fun designs that highlight sponsors, towns and supporters, we can create a professional product while engaging recreation and sports enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.”
