Morning Update: Day 6, For Some; Others Regained Power Overnight

Another day without power for a lot of Wall residents, but some received power overnight

Good Morning, Wall Township.

For some, this is Day 6 without power. But overnight, various parts of the township began to regain electricity. Portions of the south end received power around 8 p.m. West Belmar started to come online overnight, too.

For the rest, we hope it’s not too much longer.

The Intermediate School was reopened for Wall residents again last night as an emergency shelter from the cold. It will be open again tonight, according to the Office of Emergency Management.

There have been questions about schools and Tuesday’s election. There will be no change to any of the polling stations in Wall on Tuesday. Everything planned before the storm remains the same after it, according to the OEM. Vote as you normally would.

As for schools, Superintendent Daniel Simon has said in a message to parents that schools will be closed Monday at least. A decision on Tuesday and the rest of the wek has not yet been made.

Today is an even day. Under the new gas rationing system, anyone with an even final digit on their license plate has the right to sit in whichever gasoline line he or she chooses for hours on end to fill a tank. Good luck to you.
