Office of Emergency Management Reminders

The township Office of Emergency Mangement has issued the following information:

Brown Water
Wall Township residents are reporting an increase in water pressure. If your water appears brown in color, continue running the water and it will clear up. There are no contamination issues!

Downed Power Lines
Live lines and lines without power look the same.  Leave them alone and report them.  Even downed phone and cable lines can be energized if crossed with power lines!

Returning Home after Evacuation
If you open your front door and smell natural gas, close the door, go back to the curb and call 9-1-1.  Don’t even turn on a flashlight

If you return to standing water inside your home, do not touch anything that may have power (refrigerator, light switch, etc.)

Generator Operation
Ensure the proper wiring.  Use extension cords which are rated appropriately to your specific generator.  NEVER operate a generator unit inside or close to an open window or door.  Ensure a proper distance away from your home or business.
