Power Outage In Portions of North Wall

Power company estimates a return of electricity around 10 a.m.

11:30 a.m. Update: JCP&L is reporting that all power to the area has been restored.

9:45 a.m. Update: JCP&L is reporting that the number of customers without power is 104, with an estimated time for the power to return of 11:30 a.m.

A substation problem is being blamed for a power outage effecting about 1,800 customers of Jersey Central Power & Light Wednesday morning, police said.

Power went out around 7:30 a.m. and it is expected to remain off until at least 10:30 a.m., Lt. Chris Tango said.

Traffic lights at Route 138 and New Bedford Road and at Belmar Boulevard and New Bedford Road are not working. Police are stationed at those intersections and ask that drivers find alternative routes.

JCP&L estimates that 703 customers are without power as of 8:30 a.m. The company also estimates that power will be restored around 10 a.m.
