Route 138 Ramps In Wall Twp To Close For A Month: NJDOT
Starting Jan. 4, the Route 138 and Allenwood Road ramps will be closed for a drainage improvement project, officials said Thursday.
WALL, NJ - Ramp closures on Route 138 westbound are slated to take effect early into the new year as a drainage improvement developer project begins in Wall, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced Thursday.
Starting at 12 p.m. on Jan. 4, contractor, J. Lazewski Excavating Company is expected to close the Route 138 westbound ramp to Allenwood Road southbound, and the ramp from Allenwood Road southbound to Route 138 westbound.
The anticipated month-long closure will allow the contractor to clear, excavate, and install drainage improvements, according to a news release from the department.

The timing of the project is subject to change due to weather conditions.
The following detours will be in place for motorists:

- Motorists traveling on Route 138 westbound wishing to take the ramp to Allenwood Road southbound will be directed to take the ramp to Brielle/Pt Pleasant/Route 34 south, which comes before the ramp to Allenwood Road
- Turn right onto Allenwood Road
Allenwood Road southbound ramp to Route 138 westbound detour:
- Motorists traveling on Allenwood Road southbound wishing to take the ramp onto Route 138 westbound will be directed to continue on Allenwood Road southbound
- Turn right directly onto Route 138 westbound
