Single-Truck Accident Causes Fuel Spill On Highway 35 In Wall

Crews spent several hours cleaning up approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled onto Route 35.

WALL, NJ – The Wall Township Police responded to an accident on Highway 35 North involving a box truck on Monday afternoon.

An on-scene investigation revealed the driver was traveling east on the ramp from Route 138 East to Highway 35 North when they lost control due to a medical emergency, struck a curb, then traveled onto the median, and collided with two trees and a metal guard rail. The driver was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for evaluation by Wall Township Emergency Medical Services.

The accident caused approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel to leak onto the highway, shutting down traffic for several hours while the fuel spill was cleaned up.
