Sinkhole Opens Up In Commerical Parking Lot

Multiple local agencies reported to the sinkhole, which had a parked car partially fall in.

WALL, NJ – A sinkhole measuring six feet deep at 15 feet wide opened up in the back parking lot of a commercial building on Route 35 late Tuesday morning, causing a car to partially sink in.

According to a press release from the Wall Township Police Department, the empty car was removed with no incident, and the building, which suffered no structural damage, was temporarily evacuated.

The cause of the sinkhole is under investigation.
