Manasquan Board Of Education To Ask Murphy To Lift Mask Mandate
The Manasquan Board of Education will pass the resolution at Tuesday's night's general meeting.

MANASQUAN, NJ – The Manasquan Board of Education is introducing a resolution at Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting asking that Governor Phil Murphy lift the mandatory mask mandate and instead leave it up to the individual school districts to determine.
This resolution comes after the decision made this past Thursday by Manansquan’s superintendent Frank Kasyan that mask-wearing is optional for the rest of the year.
“The Manasquan Board of Education urges the Governor and the New Jersey Department of Education rescind all mandatory provisions within Executive Order No. 175, “The Road Back: Restart and Recovery Plan for Education,” and any additional supplemental guidance to either, including, but not limited to, the mandatory use of face masks by all students, staff, and visitors to a school building,” the resolution states.

“Be it further Resolved, that all mandatory provisions be replaced with guidance that can be considered and implemented by boards of education given their knowledge and understanding of the impact of these provisions on the students and staff in their school district.”
Manasquan joins a long list of schools, including Wall and Point Pleasant making mask-wearing optional for the rest of the school year.
