Traffic Pattern Changes For Atlantic Avenue Circle In Wall

The NJ Department of Transportation announced on Tuesday that the right of way is now granted to drivers already within the circle.

WALL, NJ – Slow down, folks: traffic pattern changes are coming to Wall.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced on Tuesday that traffic pattern will change for the Atlantic Avenue Circle on Route 35, requiring a complete restripe of the roadway to prepare for the shift.

Currently, drivers on Route 35 entering the traffic circle have the right of way, and drivers already within the circle must yield. Effective Thursday, drivers in the circle will have the right of way, while all drivers entering the circle must yield.

The new roadway striping will allow for two through lanes for Route 35 northbound and southbound. New signage will guide drivers through the changes to minimize lane changing within the circle.

Earlier this week, a similar project was completed on the Manasquan Circle on Route 34 and Allaire Avenue.

“When complete, this project will result in all traffic circles in Wall Township operating in similar ways, which should reduce confusion and improve safety among the motorists that use these circles,” said the NJDOT in a statement.

Drivers are encouraged to check NJDOT traffic updates at 511nj.org or the NJDOT Facebook page for the most up-to-date information on the roadwork.
