Wall Coaster Derby Entry Deadline Approaching
The derby, marking its 13th year since being resumed, is open to kids ages 7 to 13. Time is running out to enter.

WALL, NJ — Wall Township Police are still accepting entries for the 13th annual Wall Township Police Coaster Derby, set for Saturday, Oct. 20.
The derby, which was resurrected in 2006 after not being held for several years, is open to kids ages 7 through 13, who will race their derby cars 700 feet on a straight, inclined race course on Industrial Road in Wall.
Drivers rely solely on gravity to propel their derby cars from the starting ramp to the finish line. Competitors race side-by-side in two lanes in the timed event. The four drivers with the fastest average time in two races compete for the overall Grand Champion award.

The derby now is a one-day event. Derby entrants must register in advance, and on derby day cars will be inspected at the Glendola Firehouse located on the race course on Industrial Road.
