WALL, NJ – At Tuesday’s meeting of the Wall Township committee, several championship teams from Wall High School were honored for their efforts during their seasons.

The teams recognized for their championship seasons were the Central East Region state champion boys’ soccer team, the Central Jersey Group II and overall Group II champion boys’ golf team, the Central Jersey Group II champion girls’ volleyball team, and the undefeated Shore Conference Super Pod champion football team that finished the season ranked first in the state.

“I want to thank everyone here tonight for recognizing the season that we had. It was a unique year, but I’m proud of all the guys, all of the coaching staff, and all of the support that we get from the community,” Anthony Grandinetti, Wall’s head football coach, said.

Wall’s mayor Timothy Farrell said that Wall’s performance on the football field was a bright spot amongst the pandemic.

“I think this team brought a lot of sunshine to the community in the fall,” Farrell said. “It was pretty grim, and I went to the games like I do each year, but this year was special.”
