Wall HS Art Teacher Wins Monmouth Arts Outstanding Educator Award

Wall High School art teacher Jill Alexander was awarded at a recent virtual awards ceremony.

WALL, NJ – Wall High School art teacher Jill Alexander was recently honored by Monmouth Arts with their Outstanding Educator in Visual Arts award at their 2021 Arts Education Awards.

In a video posted on the high school’s website, Alexander thanked her husband, John, her mom, along with her fellow art teachers Suzanne Ryan, Mychelle Kendrick, and Kerry Kelley, along with Wall High School principal Rosaleen Sirchio for their support and dedication to the art program.

“It’s a pleasure to work with women who practice what they teach and take pride in what they do,” Alexander said.

Alexander also talked about what her goal is as being an art teacher.

“My goal is to not only spark knowledge and passion within my students,” Alexander said.

Alexander finished up by speaking about how her students have an impact on her.

“What my students may not realize, though, is that they spark the same passion and creativity in me,” Alexander said. “They challenge me every day with their fresh perspectives and thought-provoking questions and surprise me with their amazing, amazing, amazing works of art.

“They make it all possible, and for that, I’m eternally grateful.”
