Wall PD Acquires Microchip Scanners For Missing Pets

To assist residents with lost animals, Wall police recently acquired two animal microchip scanners.

WALL, NJ - Should a four-legged Wall Township resident ever become lost, the Wall Township Police Department has new technology at the ready.

The law enforcement agency recently acquired two animal microchip scanners to assist in reuniting pets with their owners should they become lost, according to a news release.

Pet owners are reminded to register their microchips and dogs with
the Wall Township Clerk’s Office.

The police department also has three certified Humane Law Enforcement Officers to help protect animals and pets and to hold those who commit crimes against them accountable. Humane Law Enforcement Officers conduct investigations related to animal cruelty and can file criminal charges when appropriate, the department wrote.

Lieutenant Chad Clark, Sergeant Ian Hatch and Patrolman Frank Kuhl are the certified Humane Law Enforcement Officers for the Wall Township Police Department. The department headquarters is located at 2700 Allaire Road and can be reached at (732) 449-4500.
