Wall Police Department To Host Medicine 'Take Back' Next Month

The Wall Township Police Department will take back your unused, unwanted and expired medicine on April 24. Drop-offs are anonymous.

WALL, NJ – in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Wall Township Police will host an anonymous program, dubbed Operation Take Back, to collect all unused, unwanted and expired medicine.

The initiative will see a drop off bin placed in the front lobby of the Wall Township Police Department at 2700 Allaire Road. On April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., locals will be able to dispose of medication either in its original container or removing medication from its container and disposing directly into the drug disposal box.

Prescription labels should be stripped of any identifying information. Liquid products should remain sealed in their original container. Syringes and other sharp instruments will not be accepted.

The program is anonymous and all efforts will be made to protect the anonymity of individuals
disposing of medications. No questions or requests for identification will be made. Residents will be able to deposit medications freely and independently.

"The role of law enforcement will be to maintain and safeguard the integrity of the disposed items," Wall police wrote in a news release.

When the event is over, the DEA will dispose of the contents in accordance with DEA policy.
