Wall Public Schools Received Over $2M In Covid Relief
The grants come from the CARES Act and will help off-set any unforeseen losses or expenditures stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.
WALL, NJ – The Wall Township Public School District received two Emergency and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) grants totaling $2,171,279 from the New Jersey Department of Education last week.
The ESSER grants were given to the Department of Education through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed back in March. The CARES Act provides states with direct funding to address the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on school districts in every state. Each district's total amount is based on the amount of Title 1 funding that the district receives from the federal government.
"We know our students and educators have had a difficult year," Governor Phil Murphy said back in February.
