Week Ahead: The Last Un-official Week Of Summer

Taking a look ahead at events coming up this week.

It’s a meeting heavy week in Wall Township as the town appears to be ready to shake off summer and get busy for the new season. 

This is the last unofficial week of the summer season, ending with the long Labor Day Weekend. After this week, you’ll be able to drive east or west on Route 138 with impunity.

On Tuesday, the federal Environmental Protection Agency will be at town hall to discuss its plans to cleanup 30 years of pollution traced to two former town dry cleaning businesses. Read the full details in this Wall Patch story. The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at town hall, 2700 Alliare Road.

The Township Committee is scheduled to hold an executive and regular meeting on Wednesday. The executive starts at 7 p.m. with the regular public meeting to begin at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.

Wednesday is Freshman Orientation day at Wall High School beginning at 10 a.m. at the high school, 1630 18th Ave.

Later that night, the Environmental Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet at town hall at 7 p.m.

Thursday is new student visitation day at Old Mill School, while Allenwood School will hold its Kindergarten and new student orientation. Both schools begin their programs at 10 a.m.
