14-Year-Old Stabbed During Fight In Wayne School Cafeteria
An 18-year-old is facing charges after a dispute during lunch break turned violent, police said.

WAYNE, NJ ? A teen is facing charges after police said he stabbed a 14-year-old boy during a fight at a Passaic County school on Monday.
Rayshawn Christian, 18, of Elizabeth, was charged with aggravated assault and weapon offenses following the incident at Lakeview Learning Center in Wayne.
According to police, officers were called to the school shortly before 12:40 p.m. after staff reported the victim had been stabbed and was bleeding heavily from the chest. Staff also told police the person accused of stabbing the student was on the lower level of the school.

Officers arrived at the school and arrested Christian. They also recovered the knife used in the stabbing, police said.
The victim was taken to Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson, where he underwent surgery, according to authorities.

After speaking with witnesses, police learned the stabbing happened in the school's cafeteria on lunch break after a dispute between the teens escalated.
Staff members intervened immediately and students sheltered in place following the incident, according to police.
Authorities said Christian was awaiting transport to Passaic County Jail on Monday afternoon.
