1K COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Available At Wayne Clinic This Week

Mayor Christopher Vergano announced the township would receive 1,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine, a substantial jump from previous weeks.

WAYNE, NJ — More COVID-19 vaccine doses are coming to Wayne's Macy's clinic in the Preakness Shopping Center this week. Mayor Christopher Vergano announced that 1,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine would be sent to the clinic, the most the site has received to date.

"I am pleased to report that we have received 1000 Covid-19 Moderna doses for the Townships 4/7 vaccine clinic at Macy’s. Appointments are currently available on our website: waynetownship.com for residents of Wayne and Pompton Lakes," said Vergano, on Facebook.

This latest shipment will help ease the process of getting an appointment at the Macy's clinic, a heavily sought after location for township residents.

More than 50 percent of eligible residents have already received a COVID-19 vaccine, Vergano said recently, but many had to do so somewhere besides Macy's. Read more: 50 Percent Of Wayne Residents Have Gotten A COVID Vaccine

The clinic has received weekly shipments of 300 doses, with two weeks of 500 doses. Vaccinations are scheduled weekly for Wednesday at the clinic.
