Blue Onyx Cos. Launches ‘24+Half’ with Beach Party at Paterson

Mayor Andre Sayegh of Paterson, City of Paterson officials, local business owners and other invited guests attended a special event on September 11, 2020, to announce the redevelopment of the former Fabricolor Manufacturing site into “24+Half,” a mixed-use development. Hosted by Blue Onyx Companies, a fully-integrated real estate development, construction and management firm, the event was held in a beach environment constructed by Blue Onyx in the courtyard of the two-acre property that it plans to redevelop at 24-1/2 Van Houten Street in Paterson’s Old Great Falls Historic District.

Blue Onyx trucked in nearly 500 tons of sand and set up beach furniture in socially distanced groupings, with boardwalk-style platforms to guide attendees through the site. Mayor Sayegh (rear in photo) and Levi Kelman, CEO of Blue Onyx (at the microphone), addressed attendees about the proposed redevelopment of the blighted former mill site into a work/live/play environment and community hub.
