On Saturday, June 12, Cedar Crest, an Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, celebrated Pride Month with a festive parade and rally on campus in honor and in support of the LGBTQA+ community.

More than 100 residents and staff campus paraded through Cedar Crest’s scenic campus wearing brightly colored outfits and waving rainbow flags. Before the parade, a Pride Rally was held with music, speakers, and light refreshments.

The celebration was hosted by Cedar Crest's Diversity & Inclusion committee, which works to build awareness, increase understanding and promote a community of respect and caring that embraces the richness of Cedar Crest's diverse residents and employees.

“Thank you to the Cedar Crest community, administration, resident life department, and Cedar Crest TV Studio Manager Mike Dygos for making our First Pride Rally and Parade possible. It was a superb event,” said resident Marcia Ivans, who led the rally and spearheaded the event. Marcia also launched Cedar Crest’s “Embrace Your Individuality” group with Fitness Manager Jennifer Schweizer on campus for residents and staff to share their experiences and make new friends.
