Driver Crashes Through Corrado's In Wayne: Police

The crash is currently under investigation, but there is no indication the driver was impaired, police said.

WAYNE, NJ — A woman in a Toyota Camry drove through the front of Corrado's supermarket on Berdan Avenue Tuesday afternoon, Wayne Police said.

The crash happened around 3:34 p.m., and the vehicle came to a stop fully inside the store, police said. There is "no indication" the driver was impaired.

The vehicle was driven by a woman in her late seventies. She was initially unable to get out of the vehicle on her own, "but was apparently assisted in doing so by someone within the store prior to arrival of police."

She complained of pain, but refused medical attention, according to police. No other injuries were reported.

The Wayne Building Department inspected the building, and determined that it was "structurally sound."

Wayne Police are currently investigating the crash.
