Heat Advisory, Flash Flood Watch Issued For Wayne

WAYNE, NJ — Just over a week removed from the onset of tropical storm Isaias, the National Weather Service says more heavy rain could be on the horizon Wednesday in Wayne.

The NWS has issued a flash flood watch in effect beginning at noon Wednesday, which will stretch into the evening hours.

Afternoon thunderstorms could bring torrential rainfall, the NWS said, with rainfall rates of up to 2-inches per hour possible.

With rates that high expected to dumb rain in the area in a short amount of time, the NWS says flash flooding is possible in low-lying areas, and those with poor drainage. Some smaller streams could also see flooding.

In addition to possible flooding, the NWS has issued a heat advisory for Wednesday until 8 p.m.
