Large Fire Rips Through Passaic Building, Roughly 25 Left Homeless
Firefighters are battling a large fire in Passaic Thursday morning.

PASSAIC, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – Several firefighters were hurt and two dozens residents were left homeless after an apartment building went up in flames early Thursday morning in Passaic , New Jersey.

Firefighters said it was a challenging response, dealing with the elements and high wind gusts. But crews said the most important thing was everyone survived.
Video showed flames and smoke pouring out of the roof of the building near 4th and Essex streets around 4 a.m. after the fire started on the third floor.
