In a message on Twitter, Alex reported that she tested positive for the virus during her pretest screening. The LPGA tested golfers and caddies prior to travel, and also upon arrival in Toledo.
"I am very fortunate that I have not experienced any symptoms of Covid over the last 9 days," said Alex. "I know this virus has affected so many lives and it is not something I am taking lightly."

Alex added that she has been isolating and receiving tests since July 21. In the last seven days, she said, she has tested negative for the coronavirus three times.
"I have exhausted every resource possible to be able to compete at Inverness, however due to current CDC guidelines and the current protocols the LPGA has put in place for our safety my official clearance date does not allow me to compete this week," she wrote.
