WAYNE, NJ – Say hello to Stolli.

The pup is one of over 100 Parson Russell Terriers that were rescued from “a horrific, hoarding situation” and is in need of a loving home, according to the shelter.

When he arrived, Stolli was underweight and stressed out due to his previous home.

"For all he went through he can act a bit shy at first, but soon becomes very loving. He’s been vetted, up-to-date with his inoculations, neutered and now weighs a whopping 30 pounds," the shelter said.

"Here’s the thing about Stolli, he’s going to need a family who will shower him with love, affection and attention. The Parson Russell Terrier is a breed that can be very loyal, loving and playful by nature. This breed of dog needs daily physical exercise and mental stimulation to be truly happy. Stolli does not belong in a shelter kennel. He needs to be the dog he was meant to be and with a family who understands and treasures him. He’ll be fine as soon as he knows he can trust you," the shelter said.

For further information, call 973-694-0767 during the shelter's adoption hours, which are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 to 8 p.m., and from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Wayne Animal Shelter is located at 201 Pompton Plains Crossroads, just off Route 23 at the Jackson Avenue exit.
