Meet Your New Best Friend At Wayne Animal Shelter
Patch has launched an effort we hope you'll join: We want to help 1,000 dogs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania find their forever homes.

WAYNE, NJ - It’s National Dog Month, and while many folks have four-legged pals to share their homes, Patch has launched an effort we hope you'll join: We want to help 1,000 dogs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania find their forever homes.
As part of that effort, we will be highlighting dogs that currently are waiting in shelters for someone to adopt them.
At Wayne Animal Shelter, the staff believes "there's a dog for every person."

"Some of our dogs are laid-back and would love sitting on your lap. Some are energetic and would love running laps with you. What they all have in common is to be part of a loving family. Don’t linger another minute. Choose to adopt and enjoy the benefits of having a dog!" the shelter said.
Here are some of the furry friends at Wayne Animal Shelter in need of new homes.

Bella, a lovable, playful, 4-year-old hound mix, is well-behaved, walks wonderfully on a leash and adores snuggling. She even doesn’t mind cats, the shelter said.
“We think she’d make a terrific family dog,” the shelter said.

Enzo, a 9-year-old dog that was surrendered to the shelter, came from a rough background but is still “a gentle guy who readily shares his unconditional love with lots of kisses and snuggles.”
“We may not be able to change Enzo’s past, but we can certainly work on changing his future. He doesn’t belong in a shelter’s kennel, but in a loving home,” the shelter said.

Gigi, a five-year-old hound dog who arrived at the shelter emaciated and jaundiced. Shelter staff wasn’t sure she’d survive, but Gigi pulled through and now dreams of “a home with a yard where she can run around and have fun with her toys.”
Wayne Animal Shelter is located at 201 Pompton Plains Crossroads, just off Route 23 at the Jackson Avenue exit. Adoption hours are Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday. To contact the shelter or make an appointment, call 973-694-0767.
