NJ 40th District Senate Results: Latest Vote Totals

There are no surprises in the uncontested 40th District race.

NORTH JERSEY — The polls are closed, and votes are being counted in the race for the NJ 40th Senate seat.

Incumbent Kristin Corrado is the only Republican candidate to file, while Michael Sedon will run as a Democrat.

Bergen County

Passaic County

Morris County

  • Kristin Corrado — 1,151
  • Michael Sedon — 652

Essex County

  • Kristin Corrado — 483
  • Michael Sedon — 371

Corrado served as the Passaic County clerk from 2010 to 2017, joining the senate in 2017. She is the current conference leader, and was the deputy Republican whip from 2018-2019.

Sedon is the deputy mayor of Ridgewood, and a former reporter with The Record's weekly newspaper. He ran for Assembly in 2019, but eventually withdrew from the race, according to the New Jersey Globe.

The Tuesday election will determine a party nomination, and the results are unofficial until certified by the county clerk.

Due to the uncontested nature of the race, the Associated Press has declared both candidates as winners in their respective primaries.
