NJ Man Caught In Wayne Starbucks During Burglary Attempt: Police
Store management reported that over $500 had been taken from the registers. The money was later found hidden in a refrigerator, police said.

WAYNE, NJ — A Paterson man is charged with burglary and attempted theft after police caught him inside a Wayne Starbucks around 3:30 a.m. on Monday.
Wayne police officers responded to reports of a burglar alarm going off at the Willowbrook area Starbucks on Route 23, police said. The alarm company reported seeing a man on camera near the drive-thru window as well, police said.
Upon arrival, one officer saw a man inside the store through the drive-thru window "who suddenly ducked down" after seeing the officer.

Officers eventually entered the store through the drive-thru window, where they found Jonathan Roman, 35, of Paterson, hiding in a store room. He was taken into custody without incident, police said.
During a follow-up investigation, Starbucks management informed police that over $500 was missing from the registers, and was later found stashed in a refrigerator, police said.

Roman was charged on a warrant and placed in Passaic County jail pending arraignment.
