Nor’easter In Wayne: What To Know For Tuesday
The snowstorm is expected to continue dumping snow on the region into Tuesday, causing local officials to alter daily plans.

WAYNE, NJ —Monday's snowstorm brought plenty of snow and dangerous road conditions, and forecasts say there's more to come.
The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy snow, with totals potentially reaching 14-22 inches bringing "near blizzard conditions" to much of the tri-state area into Tuesday. Read more: Nor'easter Snowfall Totals In Wayne, Passaic County

Cancellations have begun for Tuesday after Gov. Phil Murphy announced that the state's six vaccine mega-sites would remain closed in anticipation of the continuing storm. Read more:

"We are about to enter the worst of this storm. It is going to be very bad for the next 12 hours," Gov. Phil Murphy said on Twitter Monday.
Murphy said the early afternoon would be the "teeth" of the storm, and the state Department of Transportation had 3,900 pieces of equipment deployed to keep up with worsening road conditions.
The NWS said travel could be "difficult to impossible" during the storm, and those conditions could linger into Tuesday.
Wayne schools haven't yet announced plans for a second snow day after canceling class Monday citing "extreme weather conditions."
The district is currently on a remote learning model, and would return virtually, barring another snow day.

William Paterson University announced the campus would remain closed until Wednesday at 8 a.m. Classes and offices will operate remotely, university officials said.
Curbside garbage and recycling pickup was canceled for Monday due to the storm, and officials announced that Tuesday collection has also been canceled. There is no makeup collection date.

The National Weather Service labeled the "major" system a "nor'easter" since it's expected to produce strong, sustained damaging winds and precipitation over a 24-hour period on Monday and into Tuesday.

As the storm continues state officials are asking residents to stay off the road, as conditions are questionable at best.
"This is a big one," Murphy said during his Monday news conference.
"If you don't need to be out, don't go out."

Light snow likely. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 28. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tuesday Night
A 50 percent chance of light snow before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 27. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph.
