WAYNE, NJ — A Paramus woman is charged with credit card fraud, and police are continuing the investigation to determine if more charges are necessary.
Wayne Police responded to a report of a woman who was possibly attempting to steal a package from a residence on Feb. 26, police said.
Detectives arrived on-scene and recognized the location and suspect description from a recent report of suspicious activities. During that incident, a woman approached a homeowner and claimed she would be receiving a package at the home in question due to a "mix-up."

Detectives found that the name on the package matched neither Corniel nor the homeowner. The package was found to contain a credit card that was in neither Corniel nor homeowner’s name, as was a package that was delivered on the previous date, police said.
Corniel was arrested and her vehicle was impounded. A search of the vehicle revealed a second package that was taken the same day from a nearby residence, police said.
That package also contained a credit card in neither party's name, police said.
Corniel is charged with two counts of attempted credit card theft and one count of credit card theft. Detectives are continuing to investigate to determine if additional charges are warranted.
She was released on a summons in accordance with bail reform guidelines.
