Passaic Co. Prosecutor Investigating Cause Of Deadly Clifton Fire

A man was found dead after police and fire officials arrived at the scene of a Clifton fire Wednesday evening. An investigation is underway.

CLIFTON, NJ — One man is dead after a garage in Clifton caught fire Wednesday evening, the Passaic County Prosecutor announced.

Clifton Police and Fire officials responded to a fire at 44 Segar Ave. around 5:45 p.m. One man was found dead inside a car that was parked in the garage during the fire, authorities said.

The man has not been identified as of Thursday morning.

Authorities haven't yet determined what caused the fire, but there aren't believed to be any other injuries.

No charges have been filed, but an investigation is ongoing, the Prosecutor's Office said.
