Gina and Rich Martorana's Halloween decorating is the stuff of legend.

WAYNE, NJ — There are people who like to decorate for Halloween and then there is the Martorana family.

They really like to decorate.

Rich and Gina Martorana started decorating their Fairfield Road house for Halloween five years ago with three inflatables. And every year there are more inflatables, animatronics, music, and eye candy for people and trick-or-treaters.

"For the first year Rich put out all of his life-size animatroics and dressed up," Gina Martorana said. "The kids came and they loved it. Each year we got more and more inflatables."

The Martoranas started a Facebook page for the house, chronicling the Halloween and Christmas decorations. The page has more than 7,100 "likes" and more than 7,200 people follow it for updates.

"We don't have children of our own, but we love the looks on the children's faces and they look forward to it every year," Martorana said. "Some parents tell us they need to drive by a few times a day because their children want to see it."

Martorana makes snacks and hands out novelty gifts for trick-or-treaters. This year she is making 1,000 sacks of candy and will hand out orange cotton candy, popcorn, glow-in-the-dark necklases, finger puppets, and more.

The house is located at 396 Fairfield Road. The inflatables are up from 8 a.m. to midnight and the lights from 4 p.m. to midnight.

Martorana would go to the famous Camuso Family Christmas display in Livingston, which has been putting on an elaborate holiday setup for more than 50 years.

"Now I have people comparing my house to that house and it just melts my heart," Martorana said. "I love that the kids get so excited and we can make them smile. The looks on their faces are priceless. Even adults enjoy it. It's something we hope to do for many years."
