In a video, baseball mom and training facility owner Beth Gorab says the New Jersey Baseball Coalition has a plan to play by June 1.
WAYNE, NJ — The delay on Opening Day has gone on long enough for one Wayne baseball parent.
Beth Gorab, who in addition to being the parent of a high school baseball player is the owner of PS2 Athletics, and a member of the New Jersey Baseball Coalition, addressed Gov. Phil Murphy in a video posted to her Twitter page on May 16.
In the video, Gorab stated that the baseball community of New Jersey wants to work with Murphy to get athletes back on the diamond by June 1.

According to the website of the New Jersey Baseball Coalition, a proposal from the organization has been submitted and received by Gov. Murphy's office.
In the proposal, the organization lays out mandatory rules for players, coaches, spectators and umpires, as well as a timeline for the return of games and practices.
The proposed timeline is as follows:
- Phase One: May 25 - June 5, allow single team practices with up to 12 players and three coaches. No games allowed.
- Phase Two: June 6 - June 12, allow individual league and scrimmage games and continue to allow single team practices. No tournaments.
- Phase Three: Beginning June 13, all organized games can return, including league play and tournaments.
