Remembering 9/11 Victims From Wayne

Seven Wayne residents died in the attacks on the World Trade Center.

WAYNE, NJ — Tuesday is the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Seven Wayne residents died in the attacks on the World Trade Center: Robert Deraney, Jean Caviasco DePalma, Daniel Afflitto, Paul Acquaviva, Barry Glick, Leo Roberts, and Gregg John Froehner. Froehner was a Wayne police dispatcher and a Port Authority policeman.

They are remembered at the township's 9/11 memorial at the Municipal Complex.

Those seven were among the nearly 3,000 people who died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon and when United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in a rural field near Shanksville in western Pennsylvania on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
