TOTOWA, NJ — A 41-year-old Totowa man was found dead in a local hotel room Thursday. There are no signs of violence at the scene, but an autopsy is expected this week.

Police responded to the Ramada Inn located at 1 Route 46 West in Totowa at 11:46 a.m. Thursday on reports of a deceased man in one of the hotel's rooms, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Officers found Gary Potenzone, Jr. dead inside the room, the prosecutor said. An investigation found that hotel staff conducted a welfare check after Potenzone failed to check out of his room as scheduled.
