Wayne Board Of Education Announces New Schuyler Colfax Principal
Heather Weinstein began her new role on Dec. 4, according to a news release from the district.
WAYNE, NJ — The Wayne Board of Education announced Heather Weinstein as the new Principal of Schuyler Colfax Middle School in a Monday news release.
According to the board, Weinstein's first day in the role was Dec. 4.
"Heather is a long-time member and valued member of the Wayne school community and it was no surprise when she emerged as our top candidate for this position," said Superintendent Mark Toback.

"Heather has impressive professional qualifications and experiences with a long history of success in private and public enterprise."
Weinstein started her career in sales and management after graduating from Rutgers University with a Bachelors in English Literature and a concentration in business and textile design, according to the news release.

After 10 years in "private industry", Weinstein returned to school at New Jersey City University to obtain a Masters in Teaching before beginning her educational career in Wayne just over 16 years ago as a third grade teacher at Pines Lake Elementary School.
During her tenure at Pines Lake, Weinstein taught both third and fifth grade while also writing curriculum and serving as a teacher mentor.
While at Pines Lake Elementary, Weinstein earned her Post Masters Principalship Certification from Caldwell University, culminating in a role as Assistant Principal of Schuyler Colfax Middle School, where she has been leading for the last three-and-a-half years.
