After what has seemed like unending days of cold weather and precipitation, there’s a taste of summer coming this weekend. We just have to get through the rain on Friday.

The National Weather Service is calling for temperatures in the mid- to upper 70s on Saturday, with abundant sunshine -- the kind of day that will have people breaking out the shorts and flip-flops and heading to the beach.

But like an appetizer before the main meal, Saturday’s beautiful weather is going to give way to a return of the chill and clouds on Sunday. Take heart, however: Memorial Day weekend is just five weeks away.

Rain likely, mainly before 11 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 67. Southwest wind eight to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 49. Calm wind becoming northwest around five mph.

Saturday

Sunny, with a high near 75. Light northwest wind increasing to 11 to 16 mph in the morning.

Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Northwest wind 5 to 11 mph.

Sunny, with a high near 60.

A chance of rain after 2 a.m.. Increasing clouds, with a low around 46. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
