Wayne Golfer Tyler Hall Qualifies For PGA Championship

Hall, a Wayne Valley High School alumnus, is one of 312 players who will compete in the championship.

WAYNE, NJ — Tyler Hall has qualified for the PGA Professional Championship.

Hall, a Wayne Valley High School alumnus, is one of 312 players who will compete in the championship starting April 28 at Belfair of Bluffton in South Carolina.

The championship features a $550,000 purse. The low 20 scorers in the championship earn a berth in the 2019 PGA Championship May 13 through 19 at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York.

Hall was named the 2018 NJPGA Player of the Year and three-time assistant player of the year. He won the New Jersey State Open Championship in 2015 and 2016.

Hall said he was "humbled and honored to have earned Player of the Year honors in the NJPGA in my first year as a Class A PGA Professional. Thank you to everyone who has lent a hand in support of my journey."

Hall earned a full scholarship to play golf for the University of Kansas. He is one of the world's few Certified Instructors and is director of instruction at the Upper Montclair Country Club.
