Wayne Man Charged After Investigation Into Unresponsive Infant
He is charged with child abuse and neglect after medical officials found external and internal injuries on the child, officials said.
WAYNE, NJ — A Wayne man is charged with child abuse and neglect after an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and the Wayne Police Department.
The charges and arrest stem from an instance in May 2020 when an unresponsive 4-week-old was taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center. At the hospital, doctors discovered external and internal injuries on the child, the prosecutor said.
The investigation led to the arrest of Slobodan Todoric, 30, of Wayne, who was released on pretrial monitoring after a court appearance Tuesday. He is charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child, in addition to the charges above.
