Wayne Public Library Reflooring Project update

The Wayne Public Library is reflooring approximately 70-80% of the library building starting on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. We anticipate the project taking 6 weeks to complete, and we will remain open for in-building use as per our modified schedule, available at

https://www.waynepubliclibrary...

Sections of the building, however, will be closed to public and staff while they are being refloored. Services and materials located in those sections of the building will therefore be unavailable during those times, and for the time to uninstall and reinstall. We will post what sections of the building, and the services and parts of the collection that will be unavailable at any given time, with as much lead time as possible.

Please be aware that as carpet is being removed, there may be dust in the air. In addition, there will be latex-based products used during the installation of the new flooring. If you have allergies or sensitivities to dust or latex, please take all necessary precautions.

We are excited at the opportunity to refloor your library with a safer, modern, and aesthetically pleasing surface that will be easier to disinfect, and that helps refresh the library’s look. We understand that it will be disruptive and impact your experience, however we will work to minimize the impact, and appreciate your continued patience.
