"My mom adopted me and my two little brothers. I was so young, but determined to be so grown, and also a very angry and confused little boy, but she never gave up on me. Even after all these years and a lot of tough love, she tells me that she’s proud of me for becoming a marine. She says I’m tough, but I can’t think of a single person on this earth that can walk a mile in her shoes.

"She raised a daughter on her own, to then put your life on hold to adopt myself Devon and Andy, she got married, she volunteers as an EMT, she battled cancer, she started the Guardians of the Ribbon, and she still fostered kids with no place to go. My mom is incredible. She betters the lives of lost children, she stares cancer in the face, and helps others to do it with her, and she serves her community by saving lives. She's a fighter, she’s my mom so I fight too. One day maybe I can become even a little bit like her."

"She will do anything and everything for us. She cooks for us as if we were at a five star restaurant. She deserves all the spotlight because all moms should be just like her and if other moms saw this than maybe there kids can have a mom like mine. The only thing is that they will never be the same as her she will always be the number mom. She will always the the mom of the year even if she doesn't win!"
