Winter Storm: Wayne Roads, Rails, Power Outage Update
A look at the roads and rails for your ride home tonight.
WAYNE,NJ - Wayne has been largely unscathed by an early winter storm that has caused problems across New Jersey, however there's still been some impact.
There's also still some potential for snow to fall, with the National Weather Service predicting a nighttime snow accumulation of an extra 2 to 4 inches.
A winter storm warning was issued for Bergen, Passaic, Sussex, Morris, Union, Essex, Warren, Middlesex and Mercer counties. The warning was to expire between 4 and 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service’s most current snowfall totals show that a trace of snow has fallen in Ridgewood, along with a trace of freezing rain. Teterboro Airport reported the same amount.
A winter storm warning was issued for Bergen, Passaic, Sussex, Morris, Union, Essex, Warren, Middlesex and Mercer counties. The warning was to expire between 4 and 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service’s most current snowfall totals show that 2.5 inches have fallen in Rockaway and a trace has fallen in Bergen County.

NJ Transit
As of 3:30 p.m., no delays or advisories have been issued for the Montclair-Boonton line or bus lines serving the area.
The agency said it anticipates regular service on its rail, bus, light rail and Access Link services for the day as long as weather conditions permit safe operations.
Commuters are being advised to build extra travel time into their schedules and check NJ Transit’s social media pages for up to date information on their lines.

Roads
Wayne Police Capt. Daniel Daly said there were a handful of minor motor vehicle crashes earlier in the day and officers also responded to some reports of vehicles stuck at the bottoms of hills when the temperature first dropped and roads became icy.
Daly said, "Those conditions seem to have resolved now that plows and salters have hit those roadways."
As of 4 p.m., no major accidents are being reported on local or state highways in Passaic County, according to 511nj.org.
However, drivers should be aware of:
- Icing on I-287 in both directions between South of Exit 52 - NJ 23 in Riverdale and North of Exit 53 - Hamburg Turnpike in Bloomingdale use caution.
- Plowing and salting on I-280 westbound between CR 508 in Kearny and I-80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Twp use caution.
- Icing on NJ 19 in both directions between CR 509/Broad St in Clifton and CR 638/Grand St in Paterson use caution.
- A commercial vehicle travel restriction on portions of I-78, I-80, and I-287 was issued beginning at midnight Sunday. The restriction applies to the entire length of all interstate highways in New Jersey including: Route 80, both directions from the Pennsylvania state line to Exit 43 (I-287), Interstate 78, both directions from the Pennsylvania state line to Exit 29 (I-287) and Interstate 287, both directions from Exit 21 (I-78) to the New York border
Power Outages
According to PSE&G, less than 1% of the 173,438 homes it serves in Passaic County are experiencing outages. The affected homes are mainly located in Hawthorne.
