About 4,000 people were still without power in Gloucester County early Tuesday morning.

About 4,000 people were still without power in Gloucester County early Tuesday morning, most of which were PSE&G customers.
The outages are due to severe thunderstorms that hit the area Monday evening. Upwards of 80 mph wind gusts were detected with the storm, and the National Weather Service warned those who were outside to beware of flying debris.
"Mobile homes will be heavily damaged," the National Weather Service said. "Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely."

A flash flood watch remains in effect until 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. The storms were expected to help break up the intense heat wave that struck the region over the past few days. Here's a look at the National Weather Service's forecast for the rest of the week:
