Bad Father's Day Weather Possible After Tornado Hits NJ (VIDEOS)
UPDATED: Stunning videos show the tornado that left a path of damaged trees and backyard decks in NJ. Bad weather is expected this weekend.
More bad weather is expected on Father's Day after a surprise tornado left a path of destruction in some areas of New Jersey overnight. Videos below show the apparent twister as it moved through people's yards, knocked over trees, damaged a backyard deck and even closed a school.
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for most of New Jersey since there are several chances of showers and storms beginning on Sunday and lasting through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service (see forecast below).
There is the potential for severe storms on Father's Day and Monday, and flooding may become more of a problem with time across New Jersey should repeated rounds of storms affect the region, according to the NWS.

Indeed, the weather could be entirely unpredictable. This spring, the National Weather Service has predicted severe storms and, ultimately, barely anything happened.
Then came Thursday night. The National Weather Service issued virtually no warnings – other than forecasting possible thunderstorms – until around 8:15 p.m., when severe storms hit South Jersey and a tornado formed. A tornado warning was also issued at that time.

A tornado ultimately was confirmed in New Jersey on Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS says it was given video of a "clear funnel with some small debris being lofted" in Mullica Hill.
The video came from Lou DiBacco, who also provided the video to Patch. Read more: Tornado Confirmed In NJ, And Videos Show It (UPDATED)

Alexandra Ranra of Mullica Hill in Gloucester County provided a security video to Patch showing how the apparent tornado swept through her backyard.
"It happened so fast. After the warning came, we didn’t have time to secure anything, and good thing we weren’t outside during it," she told Patch.

A survey team from the National Weather Service in Mount Holly has preliminarily determined the damage sustained in Mullica Hill was caused by a tornado with wind speeds of high intensity.
The team determined damage further to the northeast, in the area just south of Deptford, was caused by tornadic winds of high intensity. It is likely that this damage was caused by the same tornado but with a discontinuous path.
The survey team will next be looking at damage near Blackwood in Camden County. More detailed information, including path length and width as well as specific wind speeds, will be provided later once the survey is completed and additional data have been analyzed.
